어린 싹과 어린 순,
어린 잎과 어린 꽃들이
산과 들, 뜨락과 행길에서
일제히 푸른 불길을 뿜고 있다.

온 천지가 눈부시게 환하다.
따스하고 훈훈하다.

누가 이 달을 잔인하다고 탓하지?
너의 마음의 황폐를 계절에다 돌리지 마라!
눈 감고 어둡다고 하지들 말라.

4월은 자혜의 어머니,
풋것과 어린 것들의 세상.

Trans. Lee jong woo

New buds and young shoots,
young leaves and child's flowers
in the mountain and field,
in the garden and road
now burst the green fires all together

Whole world is brighten dazzling.
it is warm and comfortably warm.

Who do say this month is the cruelest?
do not lay your wasted mind blame upon the season
as close your eyes, don't say dark is this world.

April is mother of charity,
Newal and children"s world.
